Churches Make a Difference in the Lives of Moms and their Children

At One by One Ministries, we recruit and train Christian women to serve as volunteer mentors to pregnant and new moms looking for support in their new roles as parents. One by One provides training, mentoring curriculum, and parenting handouts at no cost to the church, volunteer mentor, or the mom. Mentors build relationships with moms beginning prenatally and continuing through children’s early years. Mentors provide love and support, equip moms to be their children’s first and best teachers, and share the love and hope of Jesus Christ.

While there are several ways your church can support the work of One by One Ministries, we depend on church partners willing to

Begin a OBO mentor group at their church: This is an excellent opportunity for women in your church to volunteer outside of your church while fulfilling the Great Commission. Your church responsibilities are

  • to allow One by One to speak to Sunday school classes, small groups, women’s group, or the congregation

  • host a ministry table before/after services in order to recruit women willing to serve as mentors

  • help us identify a volunteer or staff member to serve as a coordinator, a liaison between One by One and volunteers at your church

  • promote your relationship with One by One to your congregation in an effort to help us recruit volunteers

Give financially to support OBO’s mentoring programs.

  • Donate with a one-time, annual gift

  • Provide monthly support

  • Sponsor our yearly fall benefit

Other opportunities to support One by One include the following:

  • Host a church-wide baby shower to provide needed baby items for One by One moms.

  • Host a coin-container drive (One by One provides the containers) to ask members to collect change during a defined time period (Mother’s Day to Father’s Day, for example). Participants can return containers to your church, and One by One will pick them up from you.

  • Invite One by One to speak or host a ministry table during Sanctity of Human Life celebrations and/or Mother’s Day celebrations.

  • Join our contact list to receive monthly prayer requests.
