Letter from our Executive Director

At One by One Ministries, it is our desire to demonstrate the love of Christ by mentoring pregnant and new moms to parent well. Moms come to us for a variety of reasons; some are experiencing unplanned pregnancies, are alone, perhaps scared, and unsure how to parent. Other moms come to us because they need someone to talk to, to turn to for advice, or a shoulder to lean on. And others come to us because they find their lives are missing the peace that can only be found in Jesus. Whatever the reason, One by One is here to serve any pregnant or new mom, regardless of age*, marital status, socio-economic status, religion, or number of children she has.

We use our own evidence-based curriculum to train Christian women to serve as mentors to moms looking for support. Training is free, and we give each mentor all the materials she needs to mentor a new mom. Once we match a mom with a mentor, they talk/text weekly and meet monthly in-person or virtually throughout the mom’s pregnancy and her child’s early years. Mentors provide friendship, support, and encouragement. They teach parenting skills and strategies. They provide education materials on baby health and safety as well as baby growth and development - especially during the vital window of baby growth from birth to age three. Mentors provide activities moms can do with their children to support their language, emotional, social, and motor skill development. Mentors also connect moms to other resources they may need, such as housing, job, transportation, child care, counseling, education, etc.

Most importantly, mentors share the love of Christ with their moms. We want every mom who comes to us to know that the Lord loves and values her and her child and that He has a plan for her life and the life of her baby. Each mentor has a prayer partner to intercede on behalf of the mentor and mom. Our curriculum for each monthly visit includes a Bible verse that mentors share with their moms. And mentors offer to pray over moms at each meeting. As their relationships grow, our mentors share the Gospel with their moms and offer the hope of salvation.

We want every mom to know that she is not alone. One by One with be with her as she navigates her new journey into motherhood, providing support, guidance, and the love of Jesus.
