We believe in the power of prayer, and we require all of our mentors to have a prayer partner to pray with and form them and their One by One moms.

Prayer Partner responsibilities

Standard of Christian Commitment: One by One Ministries’ volunteers are to demonstrate a love and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ, actively participate in a local church body, and exhibit conduct becoming a follower of Jesus Christ.

Basic Function: Actively pray for the One by One mentors. One by One provides a prayer guide to help direct efforts.

Specific Duties:

• Pray faithfully for your partner mentor and her One by One mom and family.

• Use the prayer guide to pray over specific requests and needs the mentor shares with you and for upcoming mentoring meetings.

• Pray with the mentor in person or by phone before and after each visit with the One by One mom.

• Be a part of the mentor’s “safety net” by being aware of the date and time of the mentoring visits.

• Keep strict confidentiality about the families enrolled in One by One.

• We encourage (but do not require) prayer partners to attend mentor training to be better prepared to serve as effective prayer partners.
• We encourage prayer partners to attend church-sponsored mentor meetings if possible to be better informed on how to pray for our ministry as a whole.
