Virtual Ministry

Why the Need?

Like many other organizations, One by One was forced to adapt our delivery model during the Covid-19 pandemic. We were successful in finding ways for our moms and mentors to meet virtually, and in 2022 we received a grant to allow us to pilot a completely virtual ministry in order to serve moms who do not live in any of our in-person mentoring areas or who have hardships preventing them from being able to meet in person. This virtual ministry also allows us to utilize former in-person mentors who had moved away and to train new mentors who do not live in our areas.

After a successful pilot with six mom/mentor matches, we launched our Virtual ministry in 2023. By the end of the year, we were serving moms in 14 states with mentors from six states.

If you live outside one of our regions or communities and would like to become involved with One by One, learn more here.

National Statistics:

  • More than 40% of births are to single moms.

  • 35% of children in single-mother homes live in poverty.
